① Clearly define the purpose of the corresponding valve in the equipment or device
Determine the working conditions of the valve: applicable to the medium characteristics, working pressure, working temperature and control method, etc.
② Correct selection of valve type
The premise of correctly selecting the valve type is that the designer fully grasps the entire production process and operating conditions. When selecting the valve type, the designer must first grasp the structural characteristics and performance of each valve.
③ Determine the top connection of the valve
The first two are the most commonly used among flange connection, flange connection and welded top connection. The gate valve with flange connection is usually a gate valve with a nominal diameter of less than 50 mm. If the diameter is too large, it is difficult to install and seal the connection part. The gate valve with flange connection is easy to install and disassemble, but it is heavier and more expensive than the gate valve with flange connection. It is suitable for pipe connections of various diameters and pressures. Welding connection is suitable for load conditions and is more reliable than flange connection. However, the gate valve with welded connection is difficult to disassemble and reinstall, so its use is limited to generally long-term reliable work, or higher use conditions.
④ Select valve materials
In addition to considering the physical properties (temperature, pressure) and chemical properties (corrosiveness) of the working medium, the cleanliness level of the medium (whether there are solid particles) should also be mastered. In addition, the relevant regulations of our country and the user department should also be referred to. The correct and reasonable selection of valve materials can obtain the economical service life and optimal performance of the gate valve. The selection order of valve body materials is: cast iron-carbon steel-stainless steel, and the selection order of sealing ring materials is: rubber-copper-alloy steel-F4.
